Iago, Othello and Sexual Jealousy?

How is the imagery homoeroticism used to provoke Othello’s jealousy? Why does it work? Does Iago’s homoerotic bond with Othello create a love-triangle? We will analyze Act III. scene iii., 330-476 to explore how Iago fuses imagery of homoeroticism and androgyny here and throughout the play. We will ask why this works persuasively and dramatically? How does it confirm Othello’s jealous fears, reinforce his misogynist stereotypes, and – perhaps – subtly establish a homoerotic bond between Othello and Iago?
