Ms Hannah Walsh

B.A, (Oxon) PGCE

Ex Head of Classics and English Teacher
Tutor and Project Co-ordinator for an Education Charity

I have a degree in Classics and Oriental Studies from the University of Oxford and a PGCE in Secondary English from the University of Exeter. From September 2016, I will also be studying part-time at Bristol University for an MSc in Education Policy and International Development. During my PGCE year, I received the Ted Wragg Award for Outstanding Trainees in recognition of the high standard of my English teaching. I then went on to teach English at KS3 and KS4 at Kingsbridge Community College, a highly successful state comprehensive school in South Devon. Last year I was the Head of Classics and Teacher of English at an independent school in Bristol, teaching Latin at KS3-KS5, and English at KS3. I have taught across all ability ranges and have produced a considerable number of high quality teaching resources. Having taught for several years in both the state and independent sector, I have now secured funding from an education charity to set up a regional Classics hub which would encourage and support the provision of Classics teaching in state primary and secondary schools across the South West.
