This tutorial looks at Part 1 of DNA. Probably the most revealing thing about Part One is when Jan and Mark start explaining what happened to Adam. They are both at pains to suggest that everything started off as a bit of fun and that they were all (Adam included) just having a laugh. We look at this and all the key aspects and characters who make a significant contribution. Part One of the play introduces us to the characters and gives us valuable insights into the way they think and their motivations. So, we see a collective denial of responsibility for what has happened to Adam. We see Danny more worried about the potential damage to his future career prospects than the horror of what has happened to Adam; and we see power struggles emerging within the group.
