In this podcast we’re going to discuss Piaget’s theory, with a special focus on schemas, assimilation, accommodation, equilibration and his stages of intellectual development. We’ll also be discussing Piaget’s concepts of object permanence, conservation, egocentrism and class inclusion.

1] Piaget’s theory; including reference to functional invariants (the processes of adaptation & equilibration) and variant structures (schema & operations) and Piaget’s four stages of cognitive development

2] Vygotsky’s theory; including reference to the cultural level, the interpersonal level, the zone of proximal development, scaffolding and semiotics
