James studied Modern History at St.Andrews after which he taught overseas in Romania and Tanzania. More recently he was Head of History for 10 years at a Grammar School in Kent as well as having been an examiner for both GCSE and A Level History. He is passionate about getting young people to think from the big stories of the past.
