Welcome to our tutorial series for GCSE English Language for the AQA exam board. This series will take you through all you need to know with regards to the GCSE English Language course, ranging from the basics of grammar and punctuation - more a refresher and a reminder - to more complex sentence structures, how to to be a creative writer and will provide techniques on how to approach each element of the exam. For a bit of fun, we have some spellings for you to complete at the beginning of each tutorial to keep you on your toes. Some are quite easy but some a little harder.

Welcome to our series for GCSE English Language for the Edexcel exam board. The aims and objectives of the Pearson Edexcel Level 1/Level 2 GCSE (9–1) in English Language are to enable students to read a wide range of texts fluently and with good understanding, read critically and use knowledge gained from wide reading to inform and improve their own writing. They are looking for students to be able to write effectively and coherently using Standard English appropriately. They expect students to be able to use grammar correctly, punctuate and spell accurately. Finally the expect students to acquire and apply a wide vocabulary alongside knowledge and understanding of grammatical terminology, and linguistic conventions for reading, writing and spoken language. In this series we look at all elements of their requirements, providing techniques and tips to really help students cement the basics and to stretch them further. Finally, students should be able to listen to and understand spoken language, and use spoken Standard English effectively so our tutorials have been designed to help improve those listening skills!
